OVERVIEW
Gold Edge is an automated cBot for XAUUSD (Gold) built around market structure. It detects swing highs and swing lows, reads the resulting structure, and only trades when its risk rules are satisfied.

Exits: stop loss placed beyond the detected structure point plus a small buffer, with take profit set to meet the Minimum Risk/Reward of 1.1

RISK MANAGEMENT
- Risk per trade: percentage of account balance (default 2%, adjustable)
- Stop loss: placed from the detected structure, plus a configurable buffer
- Minimum stop-loss distance: very tight stops are rejected (default 4 pips)
- Minimum risk/reward: trades below the threshold are skipped (default 1.1)
- Max open positions: 1 (default), so no stacking or averaging down
- No martingale, no grid
KEY PARAMETERS OR SETTINGS (defaults used in the backtest)
- Swing Detection Length (5): [number of bars on each side used to confirm a swing high/low]. Higher values give fewer, slower-confirming swings.
- Stop Loss Buffer, Pips (1): extra distance added beyond the structure point when placing the stop loss.
- Minimum Risk/Reward Ratio (1.1): minimum reward-to-risk required to take a trade.
- Risk Per Trade, % of Balance (2): percent of account balance risked per trade.
- Max Open Positions (1): maximum simultaneous trades.
- Minimum SL Distance, Pips (4): the smallest stop-loss distance the bot will accept.
Note: pip size for XAUUSD varies by broker, so check yours.

BEST SUITED FOR
Traders who are comfortable with the drawdowns of a Gold strategy, can run a cBot continuously (cTrader Cloud is supported), and understand that risk per trade drives both returns and drawdown. Lower Risk % for smaller drawdowns.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Gold is volatile and spreads widen around news. Use a low-spread broker.

The bot is suited for traders comfortable with gold’s volatility and drawdowns, and who can run the cBot continuously, including on cTrader Cloud. Users should consider broker spread and leverage conditions when deploying.
