A precision grid-scalper for Gold (XAUUSD). Designed for stable markets with built-in profit locking and strict risk con

The Newer Midas is a grid-style scalping bot designed exclusively for trading Gold (XAUUSD) in stable, range-bound market conditions. It operates on a precision "aim small, miss small" philosophy, accumulating small, consistent profits by buying micro-dips and optionally selling micro-peaks. The bot uses trailing stops to lock in profits and automatically stops trading once a predefined profit target is reached.

Key features include dynamic profit-locking, soft and hard kill switches for extreme volatility, and a managed wind-down protocol to safely close positions upon reaching profit goals. It supports dual-directional trading with configurable buy and sell grids, allowing users to adjust parameters such as trade volume, take profit, stop loss, dip/rise thresholds, maximum open positions, and timing controls.

Risk management tools include a capital floor guard that prevents net losses on starting capital, a danger zone volatility detector that pauses trading during sudden market swings, and a hard kill switch that liquidates all positions during extreme market shocks. The bot also features session filters to restrict trading to specific hours and slippage/spread controls to ensure order quality.

Backtested on a $10,000 starting capital, it demonstrated a net profit of $1,485.24 over 2720 trades with a profit factor of 36.79 and a maximum drawdown of 28.11%. The bot saves its state locally to maintain continuity after restarts or crashes. It is intended for use with a minimum account balance of $10,000 and a 1-minute chart timeframe.

WHAT THE BACKTEST SHOWS
cTrader backtest on Skilling tick data, 1 Sep 2025 – 1 Sep 2026, €10,000 starting capital, default preset (Aggressive), broker spread, commission and swaps included:
• Return: +56.86% · Max equity drawdown: 6.86%
• Profit factor per trade: 1.57 · 379 trades · 44.1% winning trades
• 11 of 13 months closed positive
It is one 12-month run on one broker's data. Your broker's costs and execution will change the numbers — that is why the free edition exists.

WHAT'S INSIDE
8 strategies across 6 markets in a single cBot: FTSE 100, NZD/USD, Gold, GBP/USD, USD/CAD and DAX 40. Each strategy has its own on/off switch, risk and direction. A 5% daily-loss guard and a 20% maximum-drawdown guard are on by default and adjustable; 5 risk presets set how hard it trades.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• It is not designed for prop-firm evaluation rules (prop-firm mode is off by default). For FTMO-style accounts, see our Guardian, Balanced and Edge cBots.
• It does not average down, use a grid or martingale.
• It does not promise future returns: the figures above are a historical backtest.
