One Trade a Day – US30 Automated cBot
One Trade a Day is a fully automated US30 trading cBot built around a disciplined, rule-based approach to the New York market open.
The strategy is designed for traders who want a structured way to trade US30 without constantly watching charts, manually calculating position size, or reacting emotionally to fast market movement.
Strategy approach
The cBot focuses on one carefully timed trading opportunity per day around the US cash-session open.
It analyses a predefined 10-minute direction candle before the New York open and then takes the opposite directional trade:
- Red direction candle → looks for a BUY
- Green direction candle → looks for a SELL
- Neutral/doji conditions → can skip the trade
The goal is not to overtrade. The strategy is deliberately selective and is designed around one trading decision per session.
Entry and execution
Entries are timed immediately before the US cash market opens.
The bot automatically:
- Identifies the direction candle
- Determines BUY or SELL
- Searches historical M10 candles for a suitable wick-based take-profit level
- Calculates the entry, stop loss and take profit
- Sizes the position according to the configured account-equity allocation
- Places and manages the position automatically
- Prevents additional entries once the daily trade has been attempted
This gives traders a repeatable execution process without needing to manually enter orders at one of the most volatile times of the US trading day.
Dynamic take-profit targeting
Instead of using a fixed take-profit distance every day, the cBot searches previous price action for a relevant wick-based target.
This allows the target to adapt to current market structure rather than forcing every trade into the same fixed reward distance.
The maximum lookback and wick buffer are configurable, allowing users to control how far the strategy searches for previous price levels and how aggressively targets are positioned within the wick.
Risk and capital management
Risk management is built directly into the strategy.
The cBot includes:
- Configurable equity allocation
- Automatic position sizing
- Fixed protective stop-loss distance
- Broker margin checks
- Maximum-lookback controls
- Take-profit protection
- One-trade-per-day logic
- Time-based evening exit management
- Hard end-of-day position management
Position size automatically adjusts as account equity changes, allowing the strategy to scale up or down with the account rather than relying on a permanently fixed lot size.
Evening trade management
If a trade remains open later in the day, the bot applies additional time-based management rather than simply leaving the position unattended indefinitely.
This provides another layer of discipline and helps prevent trades from remaining open beyond the strategy's intended trading window.
Historical testing
Historical testing of the underlying strategy has produced encouraging results, including periods with a high percentage of profitable trades and meaningful account growth.
Different combinations of equity allocation, stop-loss distance and take-profit search settings can materially change both returns and drawdown.
Historical performance should therefore be treated as research and testing data, not a guarantee of future profitability.
US30 is highly volatile, and increasing position size or equity allocation increases both potential returns and potential losses.
Who is this cBot for?
One Trade a Day may suit traders who:
- Trade or follow US30
- Prefer automated, rule-based trading
- Want to avoid emotional discretionary entries
- Prefer low trade frequency rather than constant scalping
- Understand leveraged CFD trading
- Want to forward-test a clearly defined strategy on a demo account
- Prefer configurable capital allocation and risk parameters
It can also be useful for traders who have limited time during the trading day and want an automated system to monitor and execute the strategy for them.
Recommended use
The strategy should be forward-tested on a demo account first using the same broker, symbol, leverage and account conditions intended for future use.
Because US30 contract specifications, spread, leverage and margin requirements can differ between brokers, results may vary between accounts.
Users should choose equity allocation and stop-loss settings appropriate to their own risk tolerance and available capital.
Important notice
Trading CFDs and US30 involves significant risk. Leverage can magnify both profits and losses. Backtesting results do not guarantee future performance, and market conditions can change.
One Trade a Day is built around discipline: one market, one session, one structured opportunity.
