Trend-following cBot with multi-indicator confirmation and ATR risk management. Trades long, short, or both directions.

Strategy Type and Trading Approach

Indigo Trend is a fully automated, long-only cBot that trades sustained uptrends using confluence from multiple momentum and trend-confirmation indicators. Unlike reversal-based strategies, Indigo Trend is designed to enter positions as a trend establishes itself and ride it with dynamic risk management. It is purpose-built for instruments with persistent upward bias — stock indices such as US30, US500 and NAS100 are its primary use case.

Entry Logic and Execution Behaviour

Indigo Trend identifies two distinct entry scenarios within an established uptrend:

1. Trend Entry: when all momentum indicators confirm bullish alignment and momentum is resuming from elevated levels, the bot executes a buy order to capture the full strength of the move.

2. Pullback Entry: when the primary trend remains intact but momentum has temporarily dipped, the bot enters on the pullback, anticipating momentum resumption within the uptrend context.

Both entry types require confirmation across multiple indicators to filter false signals. Only one entry is allowed per bar to prevent signal duplication, and the number of concurrent positions is capped by a configurable limit.

Risk and Capital Management

Every trade is protected by a dynamic, ATR-based stop loss that adapts to current market volatility. An optional take-profit system allows partial position closure at an ATR-derived target, after which a trailing stop locks in profit on the remaining portion — tightening as price advances but never moving downward.

Position sizing can be set as fixed lots or as a percentage of account balance, where the lot size is automatically calculated so that the stop loss distance represents the chosen risk percentage.

Key Trade Parameters

Trend indicators: SuperTrend period and multiplier define trend strength and direction.

Momentum indicators: QQE Duo parameters (period, smoothing, fast/slow factors, levels) and Money Flow Index period/thresholds tune entry sensitivity.

Hull Moving Average: period for trend slope confirmation.

Stop loss: ATR-based, dynamically sized to recent volatility.

Take profit: optional ATR-based target with configurable partial-close percentage.

Trailing stop: ATR-driven, activates after the partial take profit fires.

Max open positions: caps concurrent trades to control overall exposure.

Invisible mode:when enabled, stop loss, take profit and trailing stop are managed internally rather than placed as broker-side orders, keeping your levels hidden from the broker.

Who This Bot Is For

Indigo Trend suits traders seeking a systematic, hands-off approach to riding established uptrends. It works as a set-and-forget addition to an index-focused portfolio for those who want trend-following discipline without manual entry decisions.

Account size: any size is supported. Use fixed-lot mode for smaller accounts and balance-percent mode for accounts where you want risk to scale automatically.

Trader profile: intermediate to advanced traders who understand ATR-based position sizing, trend-following strategies, and are comfortable running automated systems.

Experience level: familiarity with cTrader's Automate environment is recommended so you can adjust parameters and monitor execution.

Important Limitations and Usage Notes

Long only: the bot never opens sell positions. It is not designed for ranging or mean-reverting instruments; using it on sideways markets or commodity pairs that oscillate around a flat trend may produce poor results.

No hedging or grid logic: each position is independent with its own stop loss and optional take profit.

Backtest before live use: always validate parameter settings on historical data for your chosen instrument and timeframe before deploying with real capital. Download the trial version and backtest it.

Invisible mode caveat: when invisible SL/TP is enabled, stop levels are not visible to the broker, which means they rely on the bot running uninterrupted. A disconnection or platform crash could leave positions unprotected. Use broker-side mode if uptime cannot be guaranteed.

Trend-dependent: performance is best during clear trending periods. During choppy or range-bound markets, the bot may enter and exit more frequently with lower win rates.

A complete walkthrough of Pegasus Bitcoin, a 16-strategy Bitcoin cBot for cTrader: what's inside, how it compares with simply holding Bitcoin, how to configure it, and how to reproduce its published backtest on your own platform — step by step.

▶ cTrader Store: search «realbacktesting Pegasus Bitcoin» (paid edition + free backtest-only edition)
▶ Product page, report and parameter guide:

WHAT THE BACKTEST SHOWS
cTrader backtest on Skilling tick data, 1 Jan 2022 – 7 Oct 2026, €50,000 starting capital, default preset (Balanced), additive sizing, broker spread, commission and swaps included:
• Return: +170.41% (CAGR 23.2%) · Max equity drawdown: 5.83%
• Profit factor per trade: 1.50 · 2,826 trades · 45.9% winning trades
• 39 of 58 months closed positive
• Costs already deducted: €21,184 commission + €9,702 swaps (Skilling's Bitcoin costs are high: about 0.23% per round trip)
It is one run on one broker's data. Your broker's costs and execution will change the numbers — that is why the free edition exists.

THE SAME DATES, HOLDING BITCOIN
Buying and holding Bitcoin from 1 Jan 2022 to 7 Oct 2026: about +80% in USD (+83% in EUR), with a worst drawdown of about −67%.
Year by year, book vs Bitcoin (USD): 2022 +30.2% vs −64.2% · 2023 +41.6% vs +155.9% · 2024 +25.6% vs +121.1% · 2025 +9.3% vs −6.3% · 2026 (to October) +6.7% vs −4.9%.
It does not try to beat Bitcoin in its best years: it trades long and short, so Bitcoin's bad years were good years for the book. Historical comparison, not a forecast.

WHAT'S INSIDE
16 strategies on one market — Bitcoin — from 2h to 8h: momentum, breakout, trend and regime, calendar and reversal. Long and short. Each strategy has its own on/off switch, risk and direction. A 5% daily-loss guard and a 25% maximum-drawdown guard are on by default and adjustable; 5 risk presets (Conservative, Balanced, Aggressive, Bull, Bear) set how hard it trades; margin use is capped at 50% by default.
Capital: €50,000 recommended on Balanced (the report's capital); €30,000 is a workable floor, set by the broker's 0.01 BTC minimum order.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• It is not designed for prop-firm evaluation rules (prop-firm mode is off by default). For FTMO-style accounts, see our Guardian, Balanced and Edge cBots.
• It is not a leveraged bet on the Bitcoin price, and it does not use a grid or martingale.
• It does not promise future returns: the figures above are a historical backtest.
