Gold Edge is an automated cBot for XAUUSD (Gold) built around market structure. It detects swing highs and swing lows, reads the resulting structure, and only trades when its risk rules are satisfied.
STRATEGY
- Instrument: XAUUSD
- Approach: market structure / swing-point based
- Entries: [one or two sentences on what triggers an entry, e.g. structure break, retest, etc.]
- Exits: stop loss placed from structure with a defined take profit, [confirm]

RISK MANAGEMENT
- Risk per trade: percentage of account balance (default 2%, adjustable)
- Stop loss: set automatically from the detected structure
- Minimum reward-to-risk: trades below the threshold are skipped (default 1.1)
- Max open positions: 1 (default), so there is no stacking or averaging down
- No martingale, no grid
KEY PARAMETERS
- Swing Depth: sensitivity of swing detection (default 5)
- Stop Loss: [full name and meaning] (default 1)
- Minimum RR: minimum reward-to-risk ratio (default 1.1)
- Risk %: percent of balance risked per trade (default 2)
- Max Open Positions: (default 1)
BACKTEST (disclosed in full)
Tested on XAUUSD m1 data, 1 Mar 2014 to 30 Sep 2026, starting capital 10,000, default settings:
- Net profit: 68,086.73 (+681%)
- Total trades: 1,771, winning trades: 906 (about 51%)
- Profit factor: 1.13
- Max equity drawdown: 36.89%
- Long trades were the main profit source; short trades were slightly negative over the period.
- The test included no commission. Results will vary with your broker's spreads, swaps, commissions and execution.
BEST SUITED FOR
Traders who are comfortable with the drawdowns of a Gold strategy, can run a cBot continuously (cTrader Cloud is supported), and understand that risk per trade drives both returns and drawdown. Lower the Risk % if you want smaller drawdowns.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Gold is volatile and spreads widen around news. Use a low-spread broker.
- Backtests are not a guarantee of future results. Test on a demo account first.
