Grid Pilot v10.0
Operators Overview & Feature Guide
OVERVIEW
Grid Pilot v10.0 places a ladder of pending buy and sell orders (a grid) around a price you choose. When price crosses a rung, the order fills and takes its profit a few pips later.
With Recycle enabled, every closed rung is automatically replaced so the grid stays alive indefinitely. A layered equity-protection system keeps the account safe while the grid runs, and an opt-in Recovery Engine can actively bleed off the worst underwater rungs using realised profit from the healthy side of the grid.
Grid Pilot v10.0 is a high-end, feature-rich grid bot built for traders who want to shape every aspect of how their grid behaves - pattern, direction, spacing, volume laddering, take-profit logic, break-even, trailing, recycle, equity guards, and active recovery - all from a single collapsible dashboard anchored to the chart.
GRID PATTERNS (11 TOTAL)
Every pattern has a clear purpose and a visual preview before you commit.
Two-Way Patterns:
- Two-Way Grid - classic both-sides grid for ranging markets
- Two-Way Above - both sides, orders only above centre
- Two-Way Below - both sides, orders only below centre
Long-Only Patterns:
- Long Above and Below - buy breakouts above and limits below
- Long Above - breakout ladder above centre
- Long Below - passive accumulation on dips
Short-Only Patterns:
- Short Above and Below - sell rallies and breakdowns
- Short Above - passive ladder into rallies
- Short Below - breakout ladder into breakdowns
Directional Patterns:
- With Trend - pure breakout grid, momentum-following
- Contra Trend - pure mean-reversion grid, buy dips and sell rallies

PENDING-ORDER LADDERS (NO HIDDEN MARKET ENTRIES)
- All rungs are placed as pending orders (limits or stops) held at the broker.
- Nothing opens until price actually reaches a rung - no entry slippage.
- Pending orders survive a cTrader close and fully resume on restart.
- Optional Seed Mode can fire one market order at launch (opt-in).
GRID STRUCTURE CONTROLS
- Rungs per side - from a few to dozens.
- Grid spacing - in pips, with a guard against sub-spread spacing.
- Base volume - lots, enforced minimum legal size.
VOLUME MULTIPLIER (LADDERING)
- Exponential sizing.
- Mean-reversion: outer rungs carry most size.
- Breakout: inverse laddering.
- Side-specific spacing - asymmetric long vs short grids.
- Exposure examples and safety notes included in the manual.
TAKE-PROFIT SYSTEM
- Individual TP - each rung closes independently.
- Aggregated TP - all positions on a side close together.
- Per-side Long/Short TP modes.
- Pip targets configurable per side.
- Live recalculation as rungs fill and close.
RECYCLE SYSTEM (OPTIONAL)
When Recycle is enabled:
- Closed rungs are automatically replaced at the same price.
- Grid can run indefinitely without manual intervention.
- Long and short sides can be recycled independently.
Note: Always pair Recycle with a Hard Stop. Safety warnings are detailed in the manual.
BREAK-EVEN & TRAILING STOPS
- Break-even (BE) - stop moves to entry plus buffer.
- Trailing stop - stop ratchets behind winning positions.
- Per-side overrides for long and short.
EQUITY PROTECTION (THREE INDEPENDENT LAYERS)
Enable any or all of the following:
Profit Target
- Stops the bot once equity reaches a chosen profit.
Hard Stop
- Flattens all positions at a chosen equity floor.
- Primary defence against runaway grids.
High-Water Mark (HWM)
- Tracks peak equity.
- Locks in a percentage of drawdown from the peak.
On live accounts, at least one protection layer should always be active.
RECOVERY ENGINE (OPTIONAL, OPT-IN)
The Recovery Engine is a new subsystem in Grid Pilot v10.0 that actively works to pull the account out of drawdown by converting recent realised profit into closures of the worst underwater rungs in the grid. It is safe-off by default - leaving UseRecoveryEngine = false skips every line of engine code, so operators can learn the base grid first and enable recovery only when they are comfortable.
How It Works:
- When account equity enters a defined drawdown, the engine transitions from IDLE to ARMED.
- While armed, it quietly banks a configurable percentage of every realised profit into a dedicated payback budget.
- Once that budget reaches a batch threshold, the engine spends it closing the worst-performing losing positions - converting floating losses into realised losses, paid for by the grid's own wins.
- The grid keeps trading normally throughout. Winners are never closed, positions are never reversed, and the engine stands down automatically once drawdown recovers to a target threshold.
Safety and Governance:
- Per-session caps limit total paybacks, per-tick close counts, and cool-down windows between arm/disarm cycles.
- Works alongside the three equity-protection layers; the HWM protector remains the final floor under the account.
- A dedicated Recovery tab on the dashboard shows current state (Idle / Armed / Paying Back), banked budget, and session counters live.
PAUSE SYSTEM & PRICE-ACTION ZONES:
- Pause tab - halt new orders without tearing down the grid.
- Pause Above / Below - define zones where behaviour changes.
- Example: stop placing orders above resistance or below support.
