Strategy Type & Trading Approach DragonH4GoldEA is a trend-following robot built exclusively for Gold (XAUUSD) on the H4 timeframe. It uses a Martingale volume-scaling approach combined with multi-layer entry filters to capture sustained Gold price movements while managing downside risk through configurable equity protection. Entry Logic & Execution Behaviour The bot enters one trade per new H4 bar based on candlestick momentum. It supports three modes: Buy only, Sell only, or Auto (direction determined by EMA alignment and ADX strength). Sell entries apply stricter rules than Buy — requiring price below both EMA50 and EMA200, EMA50 below EMA200, and DI- above DI+. Optional RSI and ATR filters can block entries during overbought/oversold or extreme volatility conditions. When price moves against the open position by a defined pip step, the robot scales up volume on the existing position (ModifyVolume) rather than opening new orders. Risk & Capital Management Principles The pip step and take-profit target scale dynamically with the current Gold price relative to a reference price, keeping the grid proportional as Gold's price level changes over time. An equity stop closes all positions if floating loss exceeds a set percentage of balance. A hard Max Lot cap prevents runaway exposure. Margin availability is checked before every volume addition.
