The Trading Pit is a multi-asset prop trading firm co-founded by Illimar Mattus, who also co-founded the global brokerage Tickmill and has more than 20 years of experience in investment banking and brokerage. The firm says it grew from a simple idea: giving skilled traders a fair opportunity in an environment without conflicts of interest and with full transparency. It is majority-owned by Pinorena Capital, the fintech-focused investment firm founded by Mattus, whose portfolio includes Tickmill; Pinorena was the principal investor in the firm's EUR 10 million growth round in October 2022. The Trading Pit's CEO previously served as Group COO of the broker Skilling. Its long-term goal is a trading-focused super app in which prop trading is one part of a wider offering, and in 2026 the group added a brokerage arm, TTP Markets, initially open to selected traders from its community. By its own figures, The Trading Pit has paid more than $18 million in rewards to traders, and it publishes a public dashboard of the rewards it pays. Traders can learn through its ebooks, weekly live trading-room webinars and podcast, and connect with each other in its Discord community. The review site FundedTrading named it Best Multi-Asset Prop Trading Firm 2025.
