AurumTwelve12 is a multi-strategy automated trading portfolio developed for XAUUSD in cTrader. Rather than depending on one entry pattern, the cBot brings twelve independent strategy modules together inside a single coordinated trading system.
Each module examines the gold market from a different perspective. The portfolio is designed to identify opportunities involving trend direction, momentum, breakouts, pullbacks, reversals, volatility expansion and multi-timeframe market structure. This diversified approach allows AurumTwelve12 to adapt its activity as market behaviour changes.
HOW THE PORTFOLIO WORKS
AurumTwelve12 continuously processes price action and indicator information across multiple timeframes. Each strategy has its own entry logic and can independently determine whether a valid setup is present.
One module may be searching for continuation in an established trend, while another is monitoring a breakout, pullback or possible reversal. This means the entire cBot does not depend on a single indicator or market condition.
When a strategy identifies a qualifying setup, it can prepare or execute a position using its own rules. Depending on the selected parameters and current market conditions, multiple strategies may operate at the same time.
All twelve modules remain part of one coordinated portfolio. Portfolio-level controls supervise combined exposure so that overlapping signals do not automatically lead to unlimited positions or uncontrolled risk.
TWELVE STRATEGY MODULES
The strategy portfolio is built to cover several major categories of market behaviour:
• Trend-following opportunities
• Moving-average direction and alignment
• Momentum continuation
• Breakout and volatility expansion
• Pullbacks within established trends
• Higher-timeframe directional confirmation
• Reversal and overextension conditions
• Support and resistance reactions
• Range and consolidation behaviour
• Stop-entry continuation setups
• Price-action confirmation
• Multi-timeframe market structure
Not every module is expected to trade at the same time. Some strategies may remain inactive while their required market conditions are absent. Activity naturally changes with volatility, direction, spread and the strength of available setups.
MULTI-TIMEFRAME ANALYSIS
Gold can behave very differently across short, medium and higher timeframes. A short-term chart may show a temporary pullback while the broader trend remains strongly directional.
AurumTwelve12 uses multi-timeframe information to give its strategies a wider view of the market. Higher timeframes can provide structural context and directional bias, while lower timeframes can help identify more precise entry conditions.
This approach is intended to prevent every decision from being based on a single candle or one isolated indicator reading.
MARKET AND PENDING ORDERS
Depending on the active strategy and its configuration, AurumTwelve12 can work with direct market entries and pending-order setups.
Buy-stop and sell-stop orders can be used when a strategy requires price to confirm a breakout or continuation before entering. This allows the cBot to wait for price to reach a predefined trigger rather than entering prematurely.
Pending orders are managed automatically and can be cancelled or allowed to expire when their original setup is no longer considered relevant.
TRADE MANAGEMENT
After a trade is opened, AurumTwelve12 manages the position according to the rules assigned to that setup. Trade-management behaviour can include:
• Protective stop-loss placement
• Profit-target management
• Break-even protection
• Trailing-stop management
• Time-based position control
• Pending-order expiration
• Strategy-specific exits
• Portfolio exposure limits
The exact behaviour depends on the selected parameters, symbol specifications and strategy responsible for the trade.
Positions are identified and managed as part of the AurumTwelve12 portfolio, helping prevent unrelated manual trades or other cBots from being mistaken for positions belonging to this system.
PORTFOLIO EXPOSURE CONTROL
Because twelve strategies can operate independently, AurumTwelve12 includes controls for managing their combined activity.
The portfolio can limit how many positions or pending orders are active simultaneously. This helps prevent a cluster of similar signals from producing excessive account exposure during a fast market move.
Individual strategies can still overlap when valid opportunities occur, but the overall portfolio remains subject to its configured limits.
RISK AND POSITION SIZING
AurumTwelve12 includes configurable position-sizing and account-protection options. Traders can select settings that suit their account balance, leverage, broker conditions and personal risk tolerance.
Depending on the version and configuration, risk controls may include:
• Fixed or automatically calculated trade volume
• Equity-based volume scaling
• Maximum position-size limits
• Margin-usage protection
• Drawdown-based volume reduction
• Recovery-mode risk reduction
• Daily-loss protection
• Maximum portfolio exposure
• Maximum simultaneous positions
• Emergency position and pending-order controls
When drawdown protection is enabled, the cBot can reduce its trading volume as account drawdown reaches configured levels. Recovery controls can maintain reduced exposure until equity returns within the selected recovery threshold.
These protections are intended to limit risk, but they cannot eliminate trading losses or guarantee that an account will avoid drawdown.
DAILY LOSS PROTECTION
The daily-loss guard monitors account performance against its configured daily limit.
When the cutoff is reached, the cBot can stop opening new positions for the remainder of the trading day. Depending on the selected settings, it may also close positions or remove pending orders associated with AurumTwelve12.
The reset time can be configured to match the trader’s preferred risk-management schedule. Broker server time and local time-zone differences should always be checked carefully before using this feature.
ON-CHART INFORMATION PANEL
AurumTwelve12 includes an on-chart information panel designed to make the portfolio easier to monitor.
Depending on the enabled display settings, the panel can show important information such as:
• Current account balance and equity
• Floating profit or drawdown
• Active positions and pending orders
• Current trading volume
• Portfolio exposure
• Daily performance and protection status
• Drawdown and recovery status
• Strategy activity
• Trading permissions and safety controls
The panel is intended for monitoring and does not replace the account information provided directly by cTrader or the trader’s broker.
CONFIGURABLE OPERATION
AurumTwelve12 provides parameters for adjusting its operation without changing the source code.
Settings may allow the user to control trading volume, entry frequency, maximum exposure, stop management, pending-order lifetime, risk protection, strategy participation and visual features.
Aggressive settings may increase trading activity and account exposure. Conservative settings may reduce both activity and risk. Every configuration should be tested independently before it is considered for live trading.
BROKER DIFFERENCES
Results can vary between brokers, even when the same cBot and parameter values are used.
Important differences can include:
• XAUUSD symbol name
• Contract size
• Minimum and maximum trade volume
• Volume step
• Tick size and tick value
• Spread and commission
• Swap charges
• Leverage and margin requirements
• Server time
• Historical data quality
• Stop-distance restrictions
• Pending-order rules
• Execution speed and slippage
Users should confirm that the selected symbol represents spot gold and carefully review the broker’s symbol specifications before starting the cBot.
BACKTESTING AND VALIDATION
AurumTwelve12 should be backtested using historical data from the same broker intended for trading.
Testing should cover more than one short or favourable period. A useful evaluation should include trending markets, sideways conditions, high volatility, quieter sessions and periods of significant economic uncertainty.
Important statistics include net result, maximum equity drawdown, profit factor, average win, average loss, trade count, consecutive losses, recovery time and margin usage.
Backtests are simulations based on historical data. They may not reproduce live execution, spreads, slippage or liquidity conditions accurately, and they cannot guarantee future performance.
RECOMMENDED SETUP PROCESS
Before considering live use:
- Attach AurumTwelve12 to the intended XAUUSD chart.
- Confirm the correct gold symbol has been selected.
- Review every input parameter.
- Check the broker’s contract size and volume rules.
- Run a complete historical backtest.
- Review both balance and equity drawdown.
- Test the configuration on a demo account.
- Confirm the daily reset time and risk limits.
- Use a conservative position size initially.
- Monitor operation and platform connectivity regularly.
For uninterrupted local operation, cTrader and the computer or VPS must remain running and connected. Where supported, users may also evaluate cTrader Cloud execution after confirming that the cBot and its features are compatible with their intended environment.
IMPORTANT RISK INFORMATION
AurumTwelve12 is an automated trading tool, not a promise of profit. Trading gold and leveraged financial products carries substantial risk and can result in the loss of capital.
Historical backtests, demonstrations and previous results do not guarantee future performance. No risk-management system can remove all market, broker, execution or technology-related risks.
Users remain responsible for selecting suitable parameters, checking broker compatibility, monitoring account exposure and deciding whether automated trading is appropriate for their circumstances.
AurumTwelve12 should always be tested thoroughly on a demo account before real funds are placed at risk.
