Deskripsi
Aquila Gold trades breakouts on gold. It keeps two moving averages of the H4 bars, one of the highs and one of the lows, and watches the price on every tick of the M1 chart. When the ask moves a set distance above the upper line while the last closed M1 bar was still below it, and the RSI says the move is not already stretched, it opens a buy; a break below the lower line opens a sell in the same way. Only one direction is traded at a time.
HOW IT TRADES
• Entry: the price 250 points (2.50 on a two-decimal gold quote) beyond the 30-bar H4 channel, confirmed as fresh by the last closed M1 bar; RSI(14) on M1 below 60 for a buy, above 40 for a sell.
• First position: 0.05 lot with a take profit of 150 points held by the broker.
• Recovery step: if the price moves 450 points against the first position, one more position of 0.09 lot is added (1.7 times the first, rounded to the lot step). Both then close together as soon as the price is 120 points beyond their average entry. There is never a third position.
• Protection: when the open loss reaches 20 % of the balance, every position is closed. No position carries its own stop loss as shipped; a stop per position, a trailing exit, a maximum series age and a Friday cutoff are built in as optional extensions, all off by default.
• Hours: new series only from 12:00 to 19:59 server time (UTC), the London afternoon and the New York morning; open positions are managed around the clock.
• Spread: no new series while the spread is above 50 points.
WHAT THE RECOVERY STEP MEANS
Adding a larger position against a losing one lets a series close with a smaller move back, and it also makes the open loss grow faster while the move continues. The shipped configuration holds such a series until its target or until the 20 % drawdown limit closes everything, so the equity drawdown shown with the backtest comes from these held series. Size the account for that drawdown, and read the risk disclosure before trading.
BUILT-IN PRESET
The first parameter chooses the configuration: Gold M1 Breakout is the shipped panel and the published backtest; Custom keeps whatever you type into the panel. Gold quotes with two or three decimals are handled automatically.
NEWS FILTER
With the news filter on, nothing new is opened from 50 minutes before to 30 minutes after high-impact USD events, read from a public economic calendar through cTrader's own networking service; while the calendar cannot be read, a fixed pattern of the usual release times is used. News lines can be drawn on the chart.
DASHBOARD
A panel on the chart shows the symbol and spread, each side's positions, lots and open profit, balance and equity, the channel and RSI values, the upcoming news events and a status line, with buttons to switch trading on or off and to close all, the buys or the sells.
KEY SETTINGS
Moving-average periods and timeframe, breakout distance, RSI period and levels, first lot, take profit, series target, recovery distances and lot step, number of recovery positions, maximum drawdown, daily loss limit, basket stop, trading hours with a selectable clock, spread cap, one-direction switch, magic number. Every one of the 74 parameters is documented.
RECOMMENDED SYMBOL, TIMEFRAME, BALANCE
XAUUSD (or your broker's spelling of it), M1, a hedging account, and 10,000 USD for the shipped 0.05 lot. The drawdown limit is a percentage of the balance while the lot is fixed, so a smaller account should lower the first lot in proportion (0.01 per 2,000 USD).
BACKTEST ASSUMPTIONS
The published figures are cTrader's own backtest of the shipped configuration (Gold M1 Breakout) on IC Markets real tick data, XAUUSD M1, 10,000 USD, leverage 1:100, commission 27.5 USD per million USD of volume, from 1 January 2026 to 30 September 2026; a backtester cannot apply the news filter. The same settings on Blueberry demo tick data over the same dates are shown in the gallery. A backtest holds only for its own period, data, balance and leverage; run your own on your broker's data before trading.
