the sample size matters. A journal should track 25 gold trades first, compare the result with 1.5R target, and only scale if 3 percent DD still looks controlled.

This belongs in the review stack, not in charge of the whole trade. Checking 69 setups on Asian session gives a fairer picture.

This feels useful when the setup already has a plan. The main value is handling XAUUSD volatility, not chasing every signal that appears. The weak spot shows up when risk stops matching the setup.

Not bad, just needs realistic expectations. Feels safer as it as one more check and ignore it when the chart looks messy. A second pass on it on 1 month.
