FAQ
Hedging bots open positions that offset existing exposure, either in the opposite direction on one symbol or on a correlated pair. A full offset freezes the net result while both legs stay open, but it also fixes any loss already there and adds spread and swap costs.
Direct hedges cannot, since a netting account holds one net position per symbol and an opposite order only reduces or reverses it. Correlated-pair hedges can work there because each symbol keeps its own position, so check which account type the bot requires.
No, it reshapes the risk instead: both legs pay spread and commission, swaps accrue on each, and closing one leg leaves the other fully exposed. Correlations between pairs also shift, so a cross-pair hedge can lose on both sides at once.
It should say whether hedges are direct or cross-pair, what triggers opening and closing each leg, which account type is needed, and whether grid-style additions are involved. Some prop firms restrict hedging, so check the logic against your firm's current rules.
If the seller offers a trial, run it on a demo account set to the hedging type and watch how each leg opens, adjusts and closes. You start, stop and configure it yourself, its orders are your responsibility, and stopping it leaves positions open, so plan how you would close them.
