Description
ATR Advanced Volatility & Trend System
The standard Average True Range (ATR) is a great tool for measuring market volatility, but in its default form, it’s just a single, difficult-to-read line. It tells you if volatility is high or low, but it doesn't tell you how to trade it.
The ATR Advanced transforms this basic metric into a complete visual trading system. By introducing a Volatility Signal Line, Directional Paintbars, and a Momentum Histogram, it tells you not only when the market is moving, but exactly how much fuel is behind the current trend.
Key Features of the FULL VERSION:
- Volatility Expansion Clouds: We added a Moving Average (Signal Line) to the ATR. The space between the ATR and its Signal Line is filled with a dynamic Cloud.
- Green Cloud (Expanding): Volatility is increasing. The market is waking up and trends are strong.
- Red Cloud (Contracting): Volatility is dying. The market is consolidating or ranging.
- Momentum Histogram: A custom histogram at the bottom tracks the exact difference between the ATR and the Signal Line, helping you spot volatility breakouts before they fully materialize.
- Smart Bar Coloring (Direction + Volatility): This is the ultimate feature. The indicator reads both the price direction (Bullish/Bearish) AND the volatility state, painting your candles accordingly:
- Bright Green/Red: Strong Trend + Expanding Volatility (Perfect for breakout and trend trading).
- Dark Green/Red: Weak Trend + Contracting Volatility (Warning: Momentum is fading).
- Extreme Volatility Detection: When the ATR spikes abnormally high (e.g., during major news events or blow-off tops), the candles turn Purple (Extreme), warning you of a potential climax or massive breakout.
- Real-Time Info Dashboard: A sleek on-chart panel displays the exact ATR value, Volatility Phase (Expanding/Contracting), and a percentage strength reading.
- Completely Unlocked: Trade on ANY symbol (Forex, Crypto, Indices, Stocks) and ANY timeframe with zero limitations. Lifetime access.
How to trade with it?
- The Breakout: Avoid trading when the Volatility Cloud is Red (Contracting). Wait for the ATR to cross above the Signal Line (Cloud turns Green) and your candles to paint Bright Green or Bright Red. This confirms a true, high-probability breakout.
- Trailing Stops: Stay in your winning trades as long as the Volatility Cloud remains Green. Once it crosses down and turns Red, it means the momentum is exhausted—a great time to take profits.
- Climax Warning: If you are in a trend and the candles suddenly turn Purple, be careful! This represents an extreme volatility spike, which often happens at the end of a trend right before a sharp reversal.

ATR Advanced is a volatility and trend indicator that enhances the standard Average True Range (ATR) by providing a comprehensive visual trading system. It integrates a Volatility Signal Line (a moving average of ATR) and fills the area between ATR and this line with dynamic Volatility Expansion Clouds. Green clouds indicate expanding volatility and strong trends, while red clouds signal contracting volatility and market consolidation.
Key features include a Momentum Histogram that tracks the difference between ATR and its Signal Line to identify volatility breakouts early, and smart bar coloring that reflects both price direction and volatility state. Bright green/red bars denote strong trends with expanding volatility, dark green/red bars indicate weak trends with contracting volatility, and purple bars warn of extreme volatility spikes often associated with trend climaxes or major events.
The indicator also includes a real-time on-chart dashboard displaying ATR values, volatility phases, and strength percentages. It supports all symbols—including Forex, cryptocurrencies, indices, and stocks—and any timeframe without limitations.
Traders can use it to confirm breakouts when volatility clouds turn green and bars brighten, manage trailing stops by monitoring volatility contraction, and receive warnings of potential trend reversals during extreme volatility spikes.
