BreakScout is a semi-automated support and resistance breakout cBot for discretionary traders. You choose the market, chart period, trade direction, support, resistance, stop method, target method and risk. BreakScout does not invent setups or replace your analysis. It watches the levels you selected, evaluates only completed candles and handles the execution workflow when your rules are met.
YOU STAY IN CONTROL
Draw and drag the support and resistance levels on the chart.
Choose buys, sells or both.
Use the active chart period as the signal period.
Choose equity risk or a fixed lot size.
Choose a manual stop line, the opposite level, the middle of the range or the confirmation candle extreme.
Choose manual take-profit lines, an R-multiple target or a fixed pip target.
Optionally enable break-even and trailing-stop management in pips.
BREAKSCOUT DOES THE WAITING
After you arm the setup, BreakScout waits for a fully completed breakout candle. A wick through a level is not enough. The candle must close beyond support or resistance and qualify as a clean engulfing or strong momentum candle with an appropriate closing-side wick. A qualifying setup places one buy-stop above the confirmation candle high or one sell-stop below its low. It does not chase the breakout with a market order.
CLEAR, STAGED SETUP
Step 1 positions support and resistance. If manual stop lines are selected, Step 2 positions only the relevant stop-loss lines. If manual targets are selected, the final step positions only the relevant take-profit lines. When armed, all selected levels reappear together, lock and remain clearly labelled at the chart edge.
EXECUTION AND RISK CONTROLS
One BreakScout pending order or position per instance.
Risk is calculated only when the final entry and stop are known.
Percentage-risk volume is rounded down and is rejected when broker minimum volume would exceed the requested risk.
Pending entry expires after 1, 2 or 3 completed candles.
Late entries, invalid geometry, insufficient target room, excessive spread, insufficient margin and broker-invalid protection are rejected.
Session-open protection blocks otherwise-qualified signals within 15 minutes either side of the standard Tokyo, London and New York opens.
Optional cTrader alerts report key setup and order events.
Restart recovery and exact-label ownership prevent duplicate orders and avoid touching trades from other systems.
No external access permissions (AccessRights is set to None).
Live account orders are disabled by default and require an explicit parameter opt-in.

Backtesting: BreakScout does not generate trade ideas or historical setups; the trader supplies every level, direction, stop and target, so results depend on the trader’s own strategy, judgement and risk decisions rather than an automated strategy. Conventional backtest performance metrics are therefore not applicable, and any zero values shown are mandatory placeholders, not performance results or claims.
Trading involves risk. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
