Make sure to set the Initial balance and other prop firm target and drawdown limits on the parameters correctly.
Each guard targets a specific, well-documented way traders fail:
PF1 — Prop Daily Loss Limit. In a fast session, traders lose track of how much of the firm's daily allowance they've already burned. Guardian tracks daily loss against your firm's exact rule and locks the session at breach.
PF2 — Max Drawdown. The overall account ceiling — the one that ends everything. Guardian supports static (FTMO-style) and trailing modes so it matches your specific firm, and closes out at the limit.
PF3 — 80% Daily DD Pre-Close. This is the killer feature. Slippage, a widening spread, or a news gap can turn "near the limit" into "breached" in milliseconds — and waiting until 100% is too late. Guardian pre-closes everything at a configurable buffer (default 80% of the daily allowance), so you never accidentally cross the firm's hard line.
PF4 — 80% Max DD Warning. The slow bleed toward the account ceiling is easy to ignore. A persistent banner forces you to reduce risk before it's critical.
G1 — Daily Profit Target. Giving back a winning day. Guardian locks in gains and ends the session when you hit your target (default 2%).
G2 — Daily Trade Budget. Death by a thousand cuts. A personal loss cap tighter than the firm's, so you stop on your terms (default 1%) — not the firm's worst-case.
G3 — Daily Trade Count. Overtrading and revenge trading. A hard cap on trades per day; once hit, any new position is auto-closed.
