An FXPIG account needs to be a cTrader account with algorithmic trading permitted, plus the symbols and account type the bot was written for. The bot itself must be obtained with the same cTrader ID that the account is linked to, and the broker can confirm any account-level restrictions.
Maximum drawdown measured against the loss you could accept matters most, followed by trade count and test length, because a thin or short sample says little. Reviews, plus live figures where the seller posts them, add context, yet every figure describes the past and none forecasts future trading.
Not on its own, because a backtest replays history under assumed costs and fills. Running the bot on a demo account, assuming the broker supplies demo accounts, shows it against current prices and spreads, and a seller's trial, where available, lets you check features first.
Yes, because brokers set their own rules on styles such as news trading, very brief holding times and high order rates, and those rules can change. Ask FXPIG support how its current terms apply to the exact behaviour described on the bot's product page.
It undermines the design, since netting allows just one position per symbol and an opposing order reduces or flips it instead of opening a hedge. Such bots need a hedging account, and where the broker offers demo accounts you can open one of that type for testing.
