The Harmonic Oscillator Bot is an algorithmic trading system based on the harmonic oscillator differential equation model, designed to anticipate price trend direction before placing orders. It operates on the BTCUSD currency pair within the Spotware terminal and Ctrader broker environment. The bot supports multiple timeframes including 1, 5, 15, and 30 minutes, as well as 1 hour.
Key parameters include exponential moving averages with fast and slow periods set at 130 and 250 respectively, a lot size starting from 0.01, and configurable range removal amplitude and deviation angles. It manages risk with a drawdown limit of 1.5% and a daily equity drawdown target below 0.5%. Stop loss is set to zero, while take profit can be adjusted from 30 or higher, with zero recommended for live or demo trading in cases of large profit targets.
The bot uses close price data and exponential moving averages to inform its trading decisions. It allows up to three simultaneous buy and sell positions and incorporates parameters such as beta (0.001), omega (0.5), and a slope threshold of 3.5. The system is suitable for proprietary firm testing across all account sizes and was backtested over the period from February 1 to February 12, 2025.
