It identifies periods when Bollinger Bands contract inside Keltner Channels, signaling a volatility squeeze. The indicator provides a live Coil Tension percentage, ranging from 0% (low compression) to 100% (maximum compression), indicating how close the market is to a breakout. Upon release of the squeeze, Coil Radar automatically detects the breakout direction—bullish or bearish—based on momentum analysis. It features a three-state visual histogram with color codes: gold for coiled (compressed), green/red for firing (breakout), and grey for open (no compression). An on-chart dashboard displays the current state, tension percentage, and momentum reading. Users can fully customize Bollinger and Keltner parameters, including periods, multipliers, and momentum lookback settings.
