WTI crude is the main US grade of oil, quoted in US dollars per barrel, and brokers usually offer it as a CFD alongside Brent. A crude robot is a cBot handling entries, exits and risk settings on that symbol, with inputs you choose.
Weekly US inventory reports, output decisions by OPEC and its allies, and economic data that shifts demand expectations can all move crude sharply. Geopolitical headlines add unscheduled jumps, so a bot may use news pauses or volatility filters such as ATR.
Look at how each measures volatility, for example with ATR, and whether it pauses, widens stops or trims size when moves grow. Compare tested drawdown across calm and turbulent stretches and the costs assumed, and check whether a free version or a trial is available.
Oil CFDs often follow futures contracts that expire each month, so a switch to the next contract can shift the quoted price and adjust open positions. Rules differ by broker, so read the symbol details before a bot holds trades through a rollover, as an unexpected shift can cause losses.
Each broker names its own symbols, so WTI may appear as USOIL, XTIUSD or WTI with a suffix, and Brent as UKOIL or XBRUSD. Point the bot's symbol setting at the name your account uses, and confirm the contract size before choosing volume.
