Automatic Trading
How much of your trading day goes into waiting for a setup? Automatic Trading monitors USDJPY for you and places buy orders when its entry rules are met. You can step away from the chart while the cBot handles the routine of watching, entering and managing trades.
How it trades
Automatic Trading is a long-only USDJPY strategy designed for the 15-minute chart (M15). It looks for buy setups and uses a relative ATR filter to screen out conditions outside its configured volatility range. When the entry rules are met, the cBot places the order automatically if the account can support the trade.
Once a position is open, the bot also checks closed hourly candles (H1). If the hourly chart shows weakness and the trade has moved at least half the initial stop distance against the entry, the bot can close it early. This gives the strategy a way to respond to deteriorating conditions before the initial stop is reached.
Risk and position sizing
The cBot sizes positions using account equity, the selected risk percentage and the distance to the initial stop. It skips an entry if the broker’s minimum trade size would exceed the intended risk or if available margin is insufficient. The risk percentage is a sizing target. Trading costs and slippage can increase the actual loss.

- Position sizing — 2% estimated risk per trade in the tested configuration
- Early exit — H1 conditions with a loss threshold of −0.5R, where 1R is the distance from entry to the initial stop
Who it’s for
Automatic Trading is built for traders who want rule-based execution without spending the session watching for an entry. It suits users who are comfortable setting up a cBot in cTrader and choosing their risk per trade. The practical account size depends on your broker’s minimum trade size and margin requirements. Smaller accounts may see more skipped entries.
Getting started
Run one instance per account on USDJPY M15 and start on demo to see how the bot behaves with your broker’s spreads, trade sizes and margin requirements. Keep the cBot running for its hourly and time-based exit rules to work. The stop and target already placed on an open trade remain in place if you stop the bot.
