GoldGrid100 — Adaptive Gold Grid cBot
GoldGrid100 automates a limit-order grid strategy for gold. It places Buy and Sell orders around market prices, subject to its trading filters and configured risk limits. It is intended for traders who want to automate grid execution while controlling order size, exposure and exit conditions.
Trading specifications
- Strategy: Two-sided limit-order grid with optional directional filtering.
- Instrument: XAUUSD or a supported USD-quoted gold symbol containing XAU or GOLD in its name.
- Analysis timeframe: Closed M5 candles for adaptive volatility and directional analysis. Order management runs on price ticks and a timer.
- Account requirements: USD-denominated hedging account. Netting accounts and non-USD accounts are not supported.
- Suggested starting balance: USD 100 for the seller’s reference configuration.
- Suggested account leverage: 1:500 for the seller’s reference configuration.
- Broker used for the seller’s reported testing: Pepperstone.
- Default grid order size: 0.01 lot.
These account specifications describe the seller’s reference setup. They do not establish a guaranteed sufficient balance or expected return. Margin requirements, available leverage, symbol specifications and execution conditions depend on the trading account and broker.
Main features
- Fixed anti-stacking rule: When either Buy or Sell has two or more bot-owned positions with negative net profit, the cBot blocks additional entries and requests cancellation of pending orders on that side. Entries become eligible again when the count falls below two, subject to other filters. This rule does not close existing positions and is not a guaranteed cap on the number of losing positions.
- Adaptive grid spacing: With adaptive controls enabled, ATR influences grid spacing. Spacing changes are applied only when no grid positions remain open.
- Market-condition filters: Configurable spread, volatility and directional filters can restrict new entries. Directional mode can pause trading or restrict grid additions to the confirmed trend direction.
- Position management: Orders are submitted with stop-loss and take-profit protection. Break-even and trailing-stop options manage existing positions.
- Risk controls: Adaptive controls include exposure, estimated stop-loss risk, margin, equity drawdown and floating basket-loss limits. Separate daily USD profit and loss thresholds can stop trading and close bot-owned exposure.
- Optional breakout recovery: Disabled by default. When enabled, it uses stop orders and a separate volume setting, which can increase exposure.
Setup and operating limitations
The broker must support the requested trade volume, pending orders and applicable SL/TP distances. Adaptive controls are enabled by default. Configure the reference-equity and loss-limit settings for the intended account before use.
There is no built-in economic-calendar filter. Stopping the cBot requests cancellation of its pending orders and closure of its positions. Some equity protections monitor the entire account, while closure actions apply to positions owned by this bot.
Compatibility with a particular prop firm's rules has not been established.
Grid trading can accumulate exposure during sustained price movements. Spreads, commissions, swaps, slippage and gaps affect results. Stop-loss settings do not guarantee an exact maximum realised loss.
