Description
FW FIB V5.9.1 – Fibonacci Retracement Bot for cTrader
Trade Fibonacci systematically. Understand your entries. Manage positions with clear rules.
FW FIB combines Fibonacci retracements with market structure, confirmed swing points and automated position management.
The system identifies suitable bullish and bearish impulses, searches for pullbacks into selected Fibonacci areas and executes trades according to configurable, rule-based conditions.
It is designed for traders who want to automate a structured Fibonacci approach while retaining control over entries, risk, targets and trade management.
How FW FIB Works
FW FIB analyses upward and downward price impulses and automatically anchors its Fibonacci structure to confirmed swing points.
Depending on the selected configuration, the system can include structural breaks, setup quality, setup age and an additional context timeframe when evaluating a potential trade.
Entries can be executed at enabled Fibonacci retracement levels either directly when price reaches the configured area or after additional confirmation through reaction candles.
Stop-loss, take-profit and position size are calculated according to the selected trading and risk-management rules.
Manual Configuration or Adaptive Setup Control
The trading logic can be configured manually or used together with the adaptive setup-control system.
The adaptive system assigns a predefined trading profile to each qualifying setup:
• Defensive: Single-position trading, confirmed reactions and more defensive target rules.
• Balanced: Uses the configured base settings while taking the higher-timeframe context into account.
• Trend: Allows scaled positions, potential Fibonacci extension targets and combined profit-protection logic when the setup meets the required conditions.
The adaptive setup control is entirely rule-based. It is not a self-learning AI model.
Certain profile-specific rules can override selected base settings, while configured risk limits, lot limits and position limits remain active.
Flexible Fibonacci Entries
The following Fibonacci levels can be enabled individually:
0.236 · 0.250 · 0.382 · 0.414 · 0.500 · 0.586 · 0.618 · 0.707 · 0.786 · 0.882
The 0.586–0.618 area can be traded as a combined Golden Pocket zone or as two separate Fibonacci levels.
Configurable tolerances can take spread, impulse size and completed candle ranges into account. A maximum tolerance limits the permitted entry distance.
Structured Targets and Profit Protection
Take-profit logic can use:
• the next valid Fibonacci level
• a fixed target
• target selection including Fibonacci extensions
Minimum risk/reward requirements, minimum target distances and configurable buffers can be applied to the target-selection process.
Depending on the configuration, the stop-loss is positioned behind the entry level or behind the next deeper Fibonacci level.
Additional position-management functions include:
• Break-even with optional offset
• Fibonacci-based trailing
• MFE pullback protection to secure part of an unrealised move
• Optional position closure when the underlying setup becomes invalid
Position Sizing and Execution Control
FW FIB supports both fixed-lot sizing and percentage-based equity risk.
In percentage-risk mode, position sizing takes the stop-loss distance and the remaining risk budget of open positions belonging to the bot instance into account.
Additional execution controls include:
• Maximum lot limits
• Maximum position limits
• Spread checks
• Margin checks
• Post-fill validation
After order execution, the bot rechecks the actual entry price, protection levels, calculated risk and risk/reward conditions.
Configurable for Different Trading Workflows
FW FIB allows users to configure:
• Long and short trading independently
• Asia, London and New York trading sessions
• Permitted trading days
• Friday entry cut-off times
• Setup age and entry validity
• Fibonacci levels and tolerances
• Context filters
• Chart visualisation and bot status
• Risk and position-management rules
All settings can be investigated using cTrader backtesting and optimisation tools.
Restart and Position Recovery
During real-time operation, FW FIB stores relevant setup and position information and reconciles it with existing positions after a restart.
Successful recovery depends on the availability of clearly identifiable setup and position data.
Enhanced Protection in V5.9.1
The current version improves the handling of protective stop modifications, including situations where a take-profit level has already been reached or where break-even and profit-protection stops must be restored.
Additional validation prevents protective stop prices from being submitted on the invalid side of the current market price.
Who Is FW FIB Designed For?
FW FIB is intended for traders who want to automate Fibonacci-based trading with transparent and configurable rules.
Basic knowledge of cTrader, backtesting, optimisation and risk management is recommended.
The system is highly configurable and should be tested with the intended symbol, timeframe, broker conditions and personal risk settings before live use.
Turn your Fibonacci approach into a structured, repeatable trading process with FW FIB.
Risk Disclosure: Automated trading involves risk and can result in financial losses. Stop-loss, break-even, trailing and other protection functions cannot guarantee a specific maximum loss in the event of gaps, slippage, execution differences or abnormal market conditions. Historical backtests, optimisations and previous results do not guarantee future performance. Always test your intended configuration in cTrader backtesting and on a demo account before considering live trading.
Summary
FW FIB offers manual rule configuration or an adaptive setup mode with three profiles—Defensive, Balanced, and Trend—each defining position sizing, entry confirmation, and profit target strategies. Trade management features include stop-loss placement behind Fibonacci levels, take-profit targets at Fibonacci extensions or fixed levels, break-even adjustments, trailing stops, and partial profit protection based on maximum favorable excursion (MFE).
Position sizing can be fixed or risk-based, considering stop distance and open position risk. The bot enforces lot size, position limits, spread, and margin checks before order execution and verifies trade parameters post-entry. Users can customize trading hours, allowed days, and separate long/short permissions. FW FIB records setup and position data for recovery after restarts.
Designed for traders with knowledge of cTrader, backtesting, and risk management, FW FIB facilitates disciplined, rule-based Fibonacci trading with configurable automation and detailed trade control.
