A breakout bot for indices is a cBot built to catch the burst of movement when an index leaves a defined range, often one formed before a session opens. It uses that range, a trigger such as a volatility threshold, and the stop and exit rules you configure.
A bracket places a buy stop above the range and a sell stop below it, so whichever side breaks first triggers the entry. A bot may then cancel the opposite order; check this, because on a hedging account both could fill in a whipsaw, while on netting the second fill offsets the first.
Compare how the range is defined, the buffer before a trigger, whether entries need volatility confirmation such as ATR, and how many attempts each session allows. Trials from some sellers let you backtest these choices on your broker's data first.
Opening moves often come from a burst of orders that fades quickly, letting price slip back into the range and hit the new trade's stop. Gaps and data releases add slippage, so several losing attempts in a row are possible.
