Description
Eternalux Range Breakout is a cTrader cBot designed for structured Opening Range Breakout (ORB) trading during the New York session. It is built for traders who want disciplined, rules-based execution combined with flexible risk management and precise session control.
The cBot offers full flexibility in defining the trading range. Users can set the exact range start time, range end time, and entry cut-off time, allowing the strategy to adapt to different instruments and trading sessions. While highly configurable, it performs best on instruments that exhibit strong volatility and liquidity during specific hours—especially around the New York session open, where breakout behavior tends to be more consistent and reliable.
Entry Logic
The bot automatically identifies the opening range, plots ORB levels on the chart, and executes trades based on the selected entry model. It includes four entry types, enabling adaptation to different market conditions:
- First Break Entry
- Second Break Entry (Any Direction)
- Second Break Entry (Same Direction as First Break)
- 50% Range Retest with Confirmation
Risk Management
Risk management is fully configurable, giving traders control over how positions are protected and managed. Available stop loss options include:
- Previous Candles Stop Loss
- ATR-Based Stop Loss
- Range-Based Stop Loss (ORB structure)
This flexibility allows for both tighter execution and volatility-adjusted protection. ATR smoothing methods can also be customized.
Features & Filters
The cBot includes a comprehensive set of tools for trade control and optimization:
- Configurable range start and end time
- Entry cut-off time (stop new trades after a defined time)
- Weekday filter (enable/disable trading by day)
- Directional filter (long/short control)
- Risk-based position sizing
- Stop loss buffer
- Breakeven functionality
