How It Works

1. Swing Level Detection – The bot scans price action to find swing highs and swing lows using a configurable lookback.
2. Break of Structure (BOS) – When a swing level is broken (close above a swing high or below a swing low), a raw signal is generated.
3. FVG Confluence – Only bullish signals that happen above a bullish FVG (and bearish below a bearish FVG) are considered. Optionally, the H1 alignment can be required.
4. Signal Confirmation – The signal must repeat for a user‑defined number of bars (e.g., 3 bars) to avoid false moves.
5. Pattern Match Filter – If enough trade patterns exist in the database, the current market pattern is compared; trades below the similarity threshold are skipped.
6. Risk & Execution – Lot size is calculated from current equity and the fixed SL. Entry is placed only if spread and maximum position limits are respected.
7. Trade Management – Immediately after entry, the trailing stop logic begins monitoring profit; it will move the stop‑loss to break‑even, then step‑trail, and finally the ATR trail as profit grows.

Prop Firm & Risk Management

Rule Implementation

Max Daily Loss

Static (fixed dollar) or Trailing (based on intraday peak). Kill switch closes all trades and stops the bot until the next reset.

Max Total Drawdown

Hard breach – immediately locks the bot and closes everything if total equity drops below the allowed percentage.

Profit Target

Monitored but not enforced; the bot can be stopped manually once the target is reached.

Daily Reset

Configurable hour (UTC). At reset, equity snapshot is updated and kill switch is unlocked.

Hard Breach Shutdown

Option to permanently stop the bot after a total drawdown breach.

You can choose a predefined challenge plan (Flash 1‑Step, Value 2‑Step, Core 2‑Step, Flex 2‑Step) or manually set every parameter – making it compatible with any prop firm.

Chart Visualization (v4.3 Enhanced)

All visual elements can be toggled on/off and colours fully customised directly from the parameter panel:

• Fair Value Gaps – Rectangles drawn from the gap candle to the current bar, filled with adjustable opacity. A label shows the gap size in pips (e.g., “FVG▲ 2.5p”).
• Liquidity Levels – Dashed trend lines for un‑swept swing highs (SSL, gold) and swing lows (BSL, blue). Equal highs/lows appear in a distinct colour (EQH/EQL, purple). Small arrows mark the exact swing point.
• Break of Structure Lines – Dotted lines showing where BOS occurred, with a “BOS▲” or “BOS▼” text label. Thickness can be set from 1 to 4.

A dashboard in the top‑left corner shows real‑time equity, daily P&L, pattern database size, and missed/whipsaw stats.

Learning Engine (Pattern Matching)

The bot stores the normalised price pattern (100 bars) every time it enters a trade. When a new signal appears, it calculates the average dot‑product similarity against all stored patterns. If the best match is below the threshold (default 60%), the trade is rejected. This simple but effective filter helps the bot only trade setups that resemble its past winners.

Note: The database resets when the cBot is removed or restarted, but it can rapidly build up in live markets.

Multi‑Timeframe (H1 Liquidity Alignment)

When enabled, the bot fetches H1 bars and identifies swing levels on the higher timeframe. A trade is only validated if the active FVG’s midpoint lies within a few pips of an H1 liquidity level.
If no H1 level matches, a fallback allows fresh FVGs (within StrictFvgAgeBars) to still trigger – preventing missed opportunities while still filtering low‑confidence setups.

Signal Validation & Whipsaw Prevention (v4.2/4.3 Fixes)

• Multi‑bar confirmation – Signal must persist for SignalConfirmationBars bars; neutral bars do not reset the counter.
• Min Bars Before Reversal – After a trade closes (or a reverse signal appears), the bot waits for a minimum number of bars before it can enter the opposite direction. This stops the constant Buy→Sell→Buy whipsaw seen in earlier versions.
• Missed Opportunity Logging – When a valid BOS is detected but fails confluence, it is counted and logged (with optional detailed output).

Supported Instruments & Timeframes

The bot works on any instrument, but the preset profiles are optimised for:

• XAUUSD (Gold) M5 – Swing lookback 12, FVG min 2.5p, SL 120p, TP 240p.
• XAUUSD (Gold) M1 – Faster settings with shorter lookbacks and a slightly tighter SL/TP.

It can be used on forex majors, indices, or commodities. We recommend backtesting on your chosen symbol before live use.

Setup Recommendations

1. Attach to XAUUSD M5 with the built‑in preset (Preset Profile = XAUUSD_M5).
2. Choose your prop firm challenge plan or manually input your firm’s rules.
3. Enable Show Chart Objects to visually verify that FVGs and liquidity are drawn correctly.
4. Start with Enable Pattern Matching = false until the bot collects at least 10 patterns (you can keep it on, but no filter will be applied until the minimum database size is reached).
5. Use a demo account or small risk (0.5%) while you become comfortable with its behaviour.
