Intelligent Confluence. Disciplined Execution.
Alpha Confluence Pro is a configurable automated trading system for cTrader built around EMA trend filtering, pullback proximity, Heikin Ashi price action and directional confirmation.
Its core strategy evaluates a defined sequence: a trend-side pullback, a qualifying Heikin Ashi doji and two directional confirmation candles. Optional breakout and anti-chasing requirements provide additional entry control.
An extensive suite of position-sizing tools, trade-management features, market filters and account protections lets users configure how the strategy enters, manages and exits positions.
⚙️ Structured Confluence Entry Engine
The core entry framework combines:
- Long-term EMA trend filtering
- Pullback proximity to the fast or middle EMA
- Heikin Ashi doji identification
- Directional doji qualification
- Two-candle directional confirmation
- Configurable confirmation-body requirements
- Optional doji breakout confirmation
- Optional anti-chasing protection
- ATR-normalized setup measurements
The trend EMA determines the required side of the market: long setups require the setup bar’s close above it; short setups require the close below it. The fast and middle EMAs provide pullback reference areas.
Users can independently enable or disable long and short entries, and select a signal timeframe independently of the chart timeframe.
🧠 Heikin Ashi Price-Action Confirmation
Alpha Confluence Pro evaluates a developing candle sequence rather than an isolated candle signal.
Its Heikin Ashi framework checks:
- Maximum doji body size relative to candle range
- Combined wick-to-body ratio
- Minimum doji range relative to ATR
- Doji direction
- Two subsequent directional, non-doji candles
- Minimum confirmation-body size in pips and ATR multiples
- Optional final confirmation close beyond the doji’s high or low
A configurable chase-distance limit can reject setups whose final signal close is too far from the fast EMA.
🛡️ Flexible Position Sizing & Initial Protection
Position sizing and broker protection settings can be configured separately.
Available controls include:
- Equity-percentage reference-risk sizing
- Fixed-lot sizing
- Maximum lot size per entry
- Optional initial hard stop loss
- Optional hard take profit
- ATR-based reference-risk distance
- Setup-structure-based reference-risk distance
- The wider of ATR and structure
- Minimum reference-risk distance
- Risk/Reward or fixed-pip take profit
- Maximum open positions
- Maximum successful entries per UTC day
- One-position-per-direction control
Hard stop loss and hard take profit can be enabled independently. The core entry logic does not require both to be enabled.
The bot calculates a reference-risk distance even when an initial hard stop is disabled. This distance supports equity-percentage sizing, Risk/Reward targets and certain trade-management triggers. It is not a virtual stop and does not cap losses without an attached protective stop.
🔐 Break-Even & Profit Trailing
Once a position is open, configurable management tools include:
- Break-even activation by position pips
- Break-even activation by net profit in account currency
- Break-even stop offset
- Position-size-adjusted trailing activation
- Percentage-of-move trailing buffers
- Fixed-pip trailing buffers
Break-even and trailing management can attach a stop even when no initial hard stop was placed.
Percentage trailing defines the distance behind the current price. For example, a 40% buffer places the stop approximately 40% of the favorable entry-to-price move behind price, retaining approximately 60% of that price move before execution costs.
Stops only tighten; these features do not guarantee a particular realized profit.
📈 Optional Position Scaling
Alpha Confluence Pro includes two independently configurable scaling methods.
Pyramiding
Add positions after favorable price movement, subject to:
- ATR-based spacing from the most recent entry
- Continued price alignment with the trend EMA
- Maximum open-entry count
- A configurable size-reduction multiplier
Position Doubling
Add positions after an adverse move from the most recent entry, using:
- A configurable pip-distance trigger
- A power-of-two sizing multiplier
- A maximum open-position level count
Scaling requires One Position/Direction to be disabled. New scaling entries remain subject to entry filters, position limits, daily trade limits and enabled exposure controls.
Scaling uses separate price triggers and does not require a fresh doji confirmation sequence. Maximum lot caps may reduce the intended scaling size.
Position doubling can increase exposure during adverse market movement and materially increase drawdown.
🚪 Advanced Exit Management
Additional exit options include:
- Chandelier ATR trailing
- Chandelier activation by reference-risk multiple
- Maximum holding period in signal bars
- Maximum holding period in elapsed minutes
- Price-channel exits
- Friday closure before the weekend
Chandelier management trails behind recorded favorable price extremes using an ATR offset.
The exit channel can close buys following a signal close below the preceding channel low, or sells following a close above the preceding channel high.
These tools can be combined with hard take profit, break-even and standard trailing management.
🌡️ Volatility Protection
The volatility framework evaluates fast ATR relative to baseline ATR, with configurable modes to:
- Accept a defined normal volatility range
- Block high volatility
- Block low volatility
- Block both extremes
- Use trend efficiency to permit higher volatility in Adaptive mode
Additional controls include:
- Abnormal candle-range detection
- A recovery pause after volatility shocks
- Minimum strategy ATR in pips
- Maximum strategy ATR in pips
Adaptive mode evaluates the efficiency of recent price movement to distinguish more directional movement from less efficient price fluctuation.
📊 Market & Exposure Filters
Optional entry filters include:
- Maximum current spread
- Minimum and maximum average tick volume
- Minimum estimated post-entry margin level
- Minimum estimated free-margin reserve
- Maximum combined open lots
- Maximum estimated combined stop-based risk
Tick volume measures price updates rather than traded contract volume.
The open-risk cap requires hard stops to be enabled and stops to be attached to every existing position managed under the same label and symbol. Its estimates exclude commissions, slippage and gaps.
📅 Detailed Trading-Time Controls
Users can configure:
- Monday–Sunday entry permissions
- Individual daily trading sessions
- First and last calendar-day-of-month exclusions
- Friday exclusions when month-end falls on a weekend
- Monday exclusions when month-start falls on a weekend
- 96 selectable quarter-hour slots
- Before-and-after slot buffers
- Quarter-hour filter inversion
- Entry delays after each hour
- Pre-hour closure of qualifying winning or losing positions
All trading-time controls use UTC.
Quarter-hour selections normally block entries within their buffered windows. Inversion permits entries only within those selected windows, subject to the remaining filters.
Session starts are inclusive and ends are exclusive. Equal start and end hours allow the full day; a start later than the end creates an overnight window.
🛑 Daily Profit & Loss Controls
Independent daily profit and loss limits can pause new entries for the remainder of the UTC day.
Threshold modes include:
- Percentage of starting account equity
- Percentage of starting account balance
- Account-currency amount based on balance change
Equity mode includes unrealized account P&L. Balance and amount modes use account balance changes.
Users can optionally close the bot’s managed positions when a daily limit triggers. Additional controls include:
- Maximum consecutive losing trades
- A cooldown after a losing trade
Daily thresholds observe the whole account, while optional closures apply only to positions matching the bot’s label and symbol. Daily baselines and counters reset at UTC midnight or when the instance restarts.
🏦 Account Equity Protection
Additional account protections include:
- Peak-equity drawdown limit
- Minimum account equity floor
- Optional closure of managed positions when triggered
These protections observe account equity and pause new entries until the bot restarts after a trigger. Peak equity is tracked from the start of the running instance.
Optional closures affect only positions matching the bot’s label and symbol.
🧰 Clear Configuration & Diagnostics
Every parameter includes a description explaining its purpose, units and relevant dependencies.
Verbose logging can report setup rejection reasons, filter blocks and protection events, helping users understand why an entry was accepted or prevented.
Monetary thresholds use account currency; labels displaying “$” assume a USD account. Pip distances follow the broker’s symbol specification.
