SmartFractalZigZag Pro is a complete market structure and Fibonacci tool for cTrader.

It combines a history-stable fractal engine, clean ZigZag swings and fully automatic Fibonacci retracements/extensions inside a single indicator. All levels are anchored only to structurally valid swing highs and lows, so you work with true extremes instead of bar-internal noise.

1. SMART FRACTAL DETECTION

Fractals are the foundation of market structure analysis — they identify local price extremes (swing highs and swing lows).

SmartFractalZigZag uses a history-stable fractal engine with tunable sensitivity so you can adapt detection to scalping, intraday, swing or position trading. The Left Bars and Right Bars parameters let you make the engine more or less selective without changing your overall strategy logic.

Recommended settings by trading style:

• Scalping: Left 3 / Right 2

• Intraday: Left 5 / Right 3

• Swing: Left 10 / Right 5

• Position: Left 20 / Right 10

2. SMART SAME-DIRECTION FILTERING

When several consecutive fractals appear in the same direction, the indicator keeps only the true extreme (highest high for up fractals, lowest low for down fractals).

This enforces a clean High–Low–High–Low sequence and makes the structure easy to read.

3. ZIGZAG SWINGS

Connects the filtered fractal points into swings, clearly showing trend direction and swing boundaries at a glance.

Automatically draws Fibonacci retracement and extension levels based on the most recent swing:

• Automatic anchors – always connected to confirmed structural highs/lows

• Up Fractal Color – default: DeepPink

• Fractal Offset (Points) – default: 50

• Show Fractals – default: ON

Filter Settings:

• Filter Consecutive – Smart same-direction filtering, prerequisite for ZigZag & Fibonacci (default: ON)

IMPORTANT NOTES

SWING BEHAVIOUR (Stable History by Design)

The indicator is built to keep confirmed swings stable in history while still allowing the active leg to respond to new price action. Once a swing is structurally confirmed, its anchor points are locked; only the still-forming leg can adapt as the market evolves.

SWITCH DEPENDENCIES

ZigZag and Fibonacci both require Filter Consecutive = ON. If you turn this off, only raw fractal points are displayed and ZigZag/Fibonacci are disabled.
