MainChart_EMA_BB is a main‑chart overlay indicator for cTrader that combines:
- Exponential Moving Averages (EMA 50 & EMA 200)
- Bollinger Bands (Upper / Middle / Lower)
Indicator Components
Exponential Moving Averages (EMA)
Two EMAs are available:

Red
Purpose:
- Trend direction
- Dynamic support/resistance
- EMA 50 above EMA 200 → bullish bias
- EMA 50 below EMA 200 → bearish bias
3.2 Bollinger Bands
Bollinger Bands consist of:
- Upper Band
- Middle Band (EMA-based)
- Lower Band
Default Settings:
- Period: 20
- Standard Deviation: 2.0
- MA Type: Exponential
Purpose:
- Volatility measurement
- Overbought / oversold zones
- Price touching upper band → potential exhaustion
- Price touching lower band → potential bounce
Parameters Explained
EMA Parameters
- Show EMA 50: Enable/disable EMA 50
- EMA 50 Period: Calculation period
- Show EMA 200: Enable/disable EMA 200
- EMA 200 Period: Calculation period
Bollinger Bands Parameters
- Show Bollinger Bands: Enable/disable BB
- BB Period: Lookback period
- BB Std Dev: Volatility multiplier
Typical Trading Usage
Trend Confirmation
- EMA 50 above EMA 200
- Prefer long trades only
Reversal / Pullback
- Price pulls back to EMA 50
- Bollinger Band squeeze then expansion
