- DoIt SMT Divergences finds the moment two correlated markets stop agreeing. When EURUSD prints a higher high and GBPUSD refuses to follow, that split is rarely retail money. Institutions leave footprints, and this is one of the clearest. This indicator spots those divergences automatically, draws them on your chart and alerts you the moment they confirm.
It is a native cTrader rebuild of the DoIt SMT engine already trusted by traders on other major platforms.
WHAT IT DOES
- Watches your chart symbol and a second, correlated symbol on the same timeframe
- Detects confirmed swing highs and lows on both markets
- Flags an SMT divergence when one market makes a new extreme and the other refuses to confirm it
- Draws the divergence line, marks both swings, and fires an alert when it confirms
HOW IT WORKS
- Confirmed swing detection with configurable strength: a swing only exists once enough bars have closed on each side of it
- Swings are matched across the two markets by time, with adjustable tolerance in bars
- Every new swing is compared against its last N predecessors, so divergences that build over several swings are caught too
- Direct or inverse correlation mode (think EURUSD vs USDCHF)
- Optional quality filters reject any divergence line that cuts through wicks or candle bodies, on either market
NON-REPAINTING BY DEFAULT
A divergence appears only once its swing is confirmed, and then it never moves and never disappears. If you want earlier signals, the optional live mode previews forming divergences as thin dotted lines that are honestly provisional: they update while the swing builds and vanish if it fails.
HOW TO USE IT
- Open your main chart and set "Correlated symbol" to its pair. Classic combinations: EURUSD vs GBPUSD, XAUUSD vs XAGUSD, US30 vs NAS100, BTCUSD vs ETHUSD. For inversely correlated pairs like EURUSD vs USDCHF, enable Inverse mode.
- A red (bearish) divergence connecting two highs means one market swept the high while the other refused to follow. That zone is where institutions often distribute. Look for short setups there with your own entry model.
- A green (bullish) divergence at lows is the mirror: watch for longs.
- Treat SMT as confluence, not as a standalone system. It tells you where smart money may be active; your market structure, levels and risk management still decide the trade.
- Session trader? Enable the kill zone filter so only divergences inside London, New York or Asia hours remain. Turn on popup or email alerts and stop staring at charts.
KEY SETTINGS
- Swing strength (default 6): bars each side that define a swing. Higher means fewer but stronger swings
- Swing match tolerance (2): how many bars apart the swings of the two markets may sit
- Compare with last N swings (5): how far back each new swing looks for a divergence partner
- Non-repainting (ON by default): switch off only if you want the provisional live previews
- Wick and body crossing filters, per market, to demand cleaner divergence lines
- Kill zones: London, New York and Asia, each with its own times, color and optional on-chart shading. Times are read in the timezone your chart displays
- History to scan (1500 bars), colors, line width, swing markers and corner badge
LIMITATIONS, STATED UPFRONT
- cTrader indicators cannot send mobile push notifications, so alerts are popup and email. We would rather tell you that here than have you find out later
- Kill zones apply to intraday charts; on Daily and above they switch off automatically
- The correlated symbol must be available at your broker; its history loads on first attach, which can take a few seconds
- SMT divergence is a probability edge, not a certainty. No indicator wins on its own
