cBot Overview
This cBot is designed specifically for EUR/USD and operates on the 10-minute timeframe (M10). It uses an automated Grid Trading strategy combined with a Fibonacci-based Martingale position management system.
How the cBot Works
The cBot automatically opens and manages trades according to predefined market conditions.
When the market moves against an open position, the cBot can add additional positions according to its grid and Fibonacci Martingale logic. This allows the system to progressively adjust the average entry price as new positions are added.
The objective is to take advantage of price retracements and market fluctuations rather than relying solely on a single entry.
Entry & Exit Filters
The cBot includes dedicated filters for both trade entries and exits.
These filters are designed to help determine when trading conditions are suitable and when existing positions should be closed. This allows the system to avoid relying on indiscriminate grid entries and provides additional control over the trading cycle.
Best Market Conditions
One of the most important characteristics of this strategy is that it performs better in sideways, ranging, and oscillating markets.
When EUR/USD moves within a relatively defined range, the cBot can take advantage of repeated upward and downward price movements. These retracements provide opportunities for the grid to recover positions and close the trading cycle according to its predefined profit conditions.
Example
If EUR/USD is moving between established support and resistance areas, the cBot can build its grid as price fluctuates and attempt to close the basket when the required conditions are reached.
When Does the Strategy Struggle?
The strategy is less suitable for strong and persistent trending markets.
When the market moves aggressively in one direction without sufficient retracements, additional grid positions may continue to accumulate. This can result in:
- Increased number of open positions.
- Higher market exposure.
- Higher drawdown.
- Greater margin requirements.
- Increased risk if the trend continues for an extended period.
For this reason, the cBot should not be considered a universal strategy for every market condition. Market regime and risk management are critical factors in its performance.
Strategy Summary
EUR/USD → M10 → Grid Trading → Fibonacci Martingale → Entry Filters → Exit Filters
The cBot is primarily designed to capitalize on range-bound and fluctuating market conditions.
In strong trending conditions, the risks associated with Grid and Martingale-based strategies can increase significantly. Appropriate capital and risk management should therefore be considered before deploying the cBot on a live trading account.
Important: Past performance and backtesting results do not guarantee future performance. Grid and Martingale strategies can be highly sensitive to market volatility, trend strength, liquidity, and account leverage.
