How It Works

1. Set your rules once — before emotions are involved.

Configure your strategy rules and prop firm account rules in the SessionLock web app. Define how you want to trade when you’re thinking clearly, so those decisions hold when you’re not.

2. Trade through the SessionLock panel.

Every order placed through the panel is validated against your rules before it reaches your broker.

• Compliant trade: executes normally.
• Violating trade: blocked before execution — no spread, no commission, no drawdown moved.

3. No bypass through the native cTrader tools.

If you place an order outside the SessionLock panel, it’s still validated against your rules.

• Compliant trade: left open to run.
• Violating trade: detected and closed immediately.

Unlike panel-blocked orders, trades placed outside the panel have already reached your broker before SessionLock can act. Even when closed immediately, you will still incur costs — see Limitations.

4. Your rules apply after entry too.

SessionLock monitors trade modifications against your configured rules. If you attempt to move a stop loss, change your risk, or adjust a pending order in a way that violates your rules, SessionLock detects it and closes the affected position or order immediately.

The impulse to interfere with a trade mid-session is just another version of the same problem. SessionLock covers it.

Your charts, indicators, setups, and existing cTrader broker connection stay exactly as they are.

Important Information & Limitations

• Orders placed through the SessionLock panel are validated before execution. Trades that violate your configured rules are blocked before reaching your broker — no spread, commission, or market exposure incurred.
• Orders placed outside the panel are validated after execution. Compliant trades remain open. Violating trades are closed immediately upon detection — but the order has already opened at your broker. You will still incur bid-ask spread, opening and closing commissions, slippage, and any applicable broker or execution fees. Depending on market conditions at the moment of closure, a realized loss beyond the spread is also possible.
• Trade modifications are monitored against your rules. Violations trigger immediate closure of the affected position or order, subject to the same costs above.
• Prop firm compatibility: Some firms flag rapid open-close activity under consistency or anti-abuse policies, or restrict third-party execution tools entirely. Confirm your firm’s current policy before connecting a funded or evaluation account.
• No profit guarantees: SessionLock enforces your configured rules. It does not generate trade signals, place trades on your behalf, guarantee profitability, or guarantee evaluation results.
