ORB Advanced is an automated trading bot for cTrader that implements the Opening Range Breakout (ORB) strategy using limit orders to capture break-and-retest price setups. It defines the opening range based on a user-specified initial period, identifying high, low, and mid levels. The bot waits for a candle close outside this range to detect breakouts and places limit orders at the breakout level rather than entering immediately at market price, aiming to improve the risk-to-reward ratio.
The bot incorporates advanced filters including an Exponential Moving Average (EMA) trend filter—requiring price to be above EMA for buys and below for sells—and a Previous Day High/Low (PDH/PDL) obstruction filter that cancels trades if these levels block the path to take profit. Risk management features include dynamic position sizing based on account risk percentage and stop loss distance, configurable stop loss and take profit ratios, and automatic cancellation of stale limit orders.
Trade management functions include automatic stop loss adjustment to break-even, optional re-entry after take profit if conditions remain favorable, and session-based hard stops to close positions and remove orders at session end. Visual aids display ORB levels and previous day highs/lows on the chart. Additional controls limit trades per session and allow enabling or disabling trading on specific weekdays.
