Candlestick Pattern Indicators for cTrader

A candlestick pattern indicator checks closed bars against coded definitions of shapes such as engulfing bars, pin bars, inside bars or morning stars, then labels matches. It speeds up recognition across many charts, though each developer defines the shapes a little differently.

Typical settings cover the wick-to-body ratio, a minimum bar size versus recent bars or ATR, and how near the high or low the body sits. Stricter values mean fewer labels; looser ones flag more marginal bars, so adjust them per symbol and timeframe.

Price alone says little: compare the pattern list, filters, alerts and any multi-symbol scanning each description states, plus reviews and update history. Some paid tools offer a trial or a subscription, and whichever you pick needs the Windows or Mac version of cTrader rather than the web or mobile apps.

Some traders check whether the pattern bar printed on higher tick volume than its neighbours, as a sign of participation. cTrader's Tick Volume indicator counts price changes rather than traded contracts, so it works as a rough activity gauge, and a higher-timeframe level often adds more context.

Labels help newcomers learn the shapes, but a pattern alone is a weak cue; trend, location and session give it most of its meaning. Experienced chartists tend to filter labels heavily, and for everyone individual patterns fail often enough that losing trades are part of the picture.
