Supertrend sets its line a multiple of average true range away from the bar's midpoint, so the gap widens when volatility rises. The line flips to the other side once price closes through it, and the ATR period and multiplier are the main inputs to tune.

Keep the ATR period and multiplier identical in both, or the bot will act on a line you never saw on your chart. The indicator shows direction and a trailing level while you decide, and the cBot turns the same flips into entries and stop adjustments under its coded logic.

In a range, price keeps crossing the line, so it switches direction repeatedly and a system that follows each switch can collect a string of small losses. Some tools add a filter such as a higher timeframe check, but filters also delay entries, and past tests cannot show how the next range will unfold.
