Descripción
The most battle-tested day-trading setup, fully automated on your chart.
Opening Range Breakout plots the high and low of the first minutes after the session opens, then tells you the moment price commits to a real breakout — not just a wick poke through the level.
What it analyses:
- Opening Range — the high/low of a configurable window right after your session start (default: 9:30 ET, 15 minutes — the classic NYSE open ORB)
- Breakout Confirmation — only fires on a full candle close beyond the range, filtering out fakeouts that just wick through and reverse
- Volume Surge Filter — optionally requires the breakout candle's volume to exceed a multiple of the recent average, so you're trading conviction, not noise
How to read it: the range prints as a shaded box with two extending lines while it's forming. The instant a valid breakout confirms, the entire box and both lines flip to bold green (long) or red (short), with a clear "LONG BREAKOUT" / "SHORT BREAKDOWN" tag right on the signal candle. Runs across your full chart history too, so you can scroll back and see exactly how every prior session's range played out.
Key settings: OR Start Hour (ET), OR Duration (minutes), Volume Multiplier, Line Extension length, and a toggle for the shaded box.
Best suited for: intraday traders on lower timeframes (1–15 min) trading stocks, indices, or futures with a defined session open — this is the single most mechanical, rules-based setup in retail day trading, and this tool removes the manual range-drawing and breakout-eyeballing entirely.
