Half Trend Cloud is a clean trend overlay built around two Half Trend layers: a Fast line for timing and a Slow line for confirmation. It draws both lines directly on price and fills a cloud between them to highlight trend conditions at a glance.
What You See
Fast Line (Cyan): the reactive layer for early direction shifts and entry timing.
Slow Line (Magenta): the confirmation layer that filters noise and defines the main trend bias.
Cloud (Green/Red): visualizes trend agreement—Green when Fast trend and Slow trend are both bullish, Red when both are bearish; in mixed conditions it stays in a neutral base state between the lines to avoid forced bias.
How It Works
Each Half Trend uses selectable High/Low (or other price types) and applies the chosen MA smoothing over the selected Amplitude/Period. Trend direction is stored internally as Trend = +1 / -1, while the Result line updates as the current dynamic level. The Cloud runs two HalfTrend instances (Fast + Slow) and compares their trend directions to decide whether to paint a bullish or bearish cloud.
Parameters
Fast Period: controls reaction speed of the Fast Half Trend.
Fast MA Type: smoothing method for the Fast calculation.
Slow Period: controls filter strength and confirmation.
Slow MA Type: smoothing method for the Slow calculation.
Strategy Add-On (Scalp • Day • Swing • Breakout)
Core Rule: trade direction only when the cloud is aligned—Green for longs, Red for shorts; avoid new trades in mixed cloud conditions.
Scalping: use Fast for timing; take pullbacks into Fast while Slow remains supportive; exit or reduce when Fast flips against the cloud.
Day Trading: treat Slow as the bias line; only take setups in its direction and use Fast flips as a momentum warning/exit trigger.
Swing Trading: let Slow define the trend; use Fast flips after corrections as re-entry timing when the cloud realigns.
Breakouts: prefer breakouts that happen with an aligned cloud; after the break, wait for the first pullback into Fast as the cleaner trigger; skip breakout attempts when Fast and Slow disagree.
