Description
QX Liquidity Sweep (QX LS)
QX LS is a hard-right-edge liquidity sweep tracker for cTrader. It detects and maintains EQH/EQL liquidity pools, marks SWEEP / RECLAIM / RAID events, and manages everything with strict object caps and a compact panel.
Visualization tool only. It does not place trades and it is not financial advice.
What it shows
1) Liquidity Pools (EQH / EQL)
- EQH (Equal Highs) and EQL (Equal Lows) pools built from swing points
- Pools evolve through states: Forming → Active → Swept → Reclaimed/Expired
- Controlled, right-edge visualization with optional labels:
- “EQH x3” means the pool was touched 3 times
2) Events that matter
- SWEEP: price runs liquidity beyond the pool by at least Min Sweep
- RECLAIM: after a sweep, price returns back inside by Reclaim Buffer
- RAID: (SameCandle mode) sweep + reclaim in the same candle (fast rejection)
3) Filters that reduce noise
- Min Pool Touches: ignore weak pools that do not have enough confirmations
- Quality scoring (optional): ranks pools and lets you display only higher quality
- Trend filter (optional): show pools/events aligned with trend (EMA fast/slow)
- Round level filter (optional): boost relevance near round numbers
4) Compact panel (informative, not a billboard)
Shows:
- Active / Forming pool counts
- Sweeps / Reclaims counts and reclaim rate
- Trend status (if enabled)
- Last event summary + quality
5) Optional alerts (sound)
- Optional sound alerts on SWEEP and/or RECLAIM/RAID. Safe fallback if sound file is missing
StepSize and “Steps” (this is the core concept)
QX LS is StepSize-based, not “pips-based”. StepSize = TickSize → PipSize → Digits fallback. So every parameter in (steps) is always consistent across FX, Gold, Indices, Crypto, Oil.
Convert steps ↔ price
- price distance = steps × StepSize
- steps = price distance ÷ StepSize
EX:.
- XAUUSD min change $0.01 → $1.00 = 100 steps
- US500 / NAS100 min change $0.1 → 1.0 point = 10 steps
- EURUSD min change $0.00001 → 1 pip (0.0001) = 10 steps
- SPOTCRUDE min change $0.001 → 0.01 = 10 steps
Does M5 change StepSize? No. StepSize is symbol-only.
What changes on M5 is the typical candle range, so your step thresholds often need adjustment.
Rule: M5 usually needs smaller step thresholds than M15 (otherwise it misses events).
Presets (starting points)
These are practical baselines. Tune after 30–60 minutes of live charting.
EURUSD (StepSize 0.00001)
- Equal Tolerance: 10–20 steps (1–2 pips)
- Min Sweep: 30–80 steps (3–8 pips)
- Reclaim Buffer: 20–60 steps (2–6 pips)
- Swing Strength: M15: 7 | M5: 5–6
XAUUSD (StepSize 0.01)
- Equal Tolerance: 10–20 steps ($0.10–$0.20)
- Min Sweep: 50–150 steps ($0.50–$1.50)
- Reclaim Buffer: 30–120 steps ($0.30–$1.20)
- Swing Strength: M15: 7 | M5: 5–6
US500 / NAS100 (StepSize 0.1)
- Equal Tolerance: 5–15 steps (0.5–1.5 points)
- Min Sweep: 20–80 steps (2–8 points)
- Reclaim Buffer: 15–60 steps (1.5–6 points)
- Swing Strength: M15: 7 | M5: 5–6
Parameter quick guide (the basics users need)
Swing Strength
- Higher = fewer pools, more meaningful levels
- Lower = more pools, more noise
M15: 7 baseline
M5: 5–6 baseline
Equal Tolerance (steps)
How close two swing highs/lows must be to be considered “equal”.
- Too low: misses EQH/EQL
- Too high: merges unrelated levels
Start: ~1–2 pips on FX, $0.10–$0.20 on Gold, 0.5–1.5 points on indices
Min Pool Touches
Minimum touches before a pool becomes “Active”.
- 2 = standard
- 3+ = higher quality, fewer pools
Min Sweep (steps)
How far beyond the pool price must run to count as a sweep.
- Too low: “sweep spam”
- Too high: misses real sweeps
Reclaim Buffer (steps)
How far price must return back inside to confirm reclaim.
- Too low: false reclaims
- Too high: late reclaims
Reclaim Mode
- CloseBackInside: clean confirmation (recommended)
- TouchBackInside: faster, noisier
- SameCandle: marks “raid” style rejection immediately

Summary
QX LS operates on a StepSize-based system, where all parameters are defined in consistent steps relative to the instrument’s tick size, ensuring applicability across Forex, commodities, indices, crypto, and oil markets. It includes filters to reduce noise, such as minimum pool touches, quality scoring, trend alignment, and round level relevance. Optional sound alerts notify users of sweep and reclaim/raid events.
The indicator does not execute trades or provide financial advice; it serves solely as a decision-support visualization tool. Preset configurations for popular instruments like EURUSD, XAUUSD, and US500 help users start with practical baseline settings, which can be tuned based on live chart observations.
