Unlike the traditional RSI with a fixed period, RSI NextGen dynamically adjusts its calculation period based on market volatility, using an ATR-based approach to expand or shorten the period according to current conditions. It also integrates trading volume, weighting price moves supported by higher volume more heavily, and factors in price speed (momentum/acceleration) to capture rapid market changes.

The indicator applies delta filtering by comparing raw RSI values with a smoothed version to reduce noise and uses dynamic bands that adapt upper and lower levels based on market activity instead of fixed overbought/oversold thresholds. Displayed as a single line ranging from 0 to 100 in a separate chart window, it features reference levels at 25, 50, and 75 to assess momentum: values near 70–75 suggest an extended upside, near 25–30 indicate an extended downside, and 50 serves as a balance point distinguishing buyer or seller dominance.
